Research project TIMpuls –
Fire safety and protection measures for multi-storey timber buildings
Introduction
The objective of this research project is to establish fundamental insights through experimental and numerical studies aimed at advancing german fire safety regulations in the context of an expanded use of timber construction.
The project is being conducted in collaboration between
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) via the central coordinating institution Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e. V. (FNR). Co-financing of the timber industry is coordinated by the Holzbau Deutschland Institut e.V.
TIMpuls Full-Scale Compartment Fire Tests
The five full-scale real fire tests represent the culmination of the TIMpuls joint research project. They serve to validate the knowledge gained from the preceding small-, medium- and large-scale tests.
On this page you will find all the information you need about the five fire tests, from the test and component setups to the measuring points, the measurement data and the test videos. Under Test setup you'll find a general overview of the test setup. Under Components, we show you the component setups and explain the selected fire load, the opening size and the arranged façade sign. In the Measuring section, we explain where we've arranged the measuring points. Here you will also find the results tables (data download). In the Media section, you'll find all the videos of the fire tests.
